In the Centre of the Centre: Choosing Love in Times of War

When the Body Remembers War

In the last few days, after hearing the news about the war in Iran, my body has been shaking.

We have been crying.

We have been dancing.

My body literally aches knowing that bombs are falling on my country.

I am worried about my land.

My brother.

My cousins.

My grandmother.

My family, back home.

The gardens in my hometown of Shiraz, Iran.

The children.

I am a child of war.

The day I was born, my country was bombed.

So when this happens again, my body remembers.

This is how trauma lives in the body.

Not as a theory.

But as sensation.

This Is Not Political

I want to be clear.

This is not a political position.

I am not choosing sides.

I am not debating ideology.

Following political narratives without consciousness often becomes another way of staying in fear.

I am sharing lived experience.

I am sharing what is real in my body.

I am a creative being.

I want what is real.

And I am done suffering as an identity.

Somatic Healing During War

So how do we stay grounded during war?

This is how my sister and I are navigating these days.

We cry.

We tone.

We sit with the energy instead of pushing it away.

We do not bypass the pain.

We do not numb it.

And then we sing.

"In the centre of the centre, there is a light that never ends. Shining, shining, the light that never ends."

This is not denial.

This is somatic healing.

This is choosing regulation instead of chaos.

Healing Collective Fear

We are living in a time where fear is amplified.

Outrage spreads faster than truth.

Violence becomes spectacle.

Grief becomes political content.

Being connected to the collective consciousness right now is not easy.

But we cannot create a loving future from hatred.

We cannot build unity from revenge.

It deeply saddens me when I see people celebrating death.

Waiting for more killing to feel free.

Murder is not liberation.

Hate does not create peace.

Choosing Love Over Fear

In the centre of our being, there is a light that cannot be taken.

It cannot be bombed.

It cannot be silenced.

It cannot be controlled.

When we activate the heart, we remember we are one.

Not divided by flags.

Not divided by leaders.

Not divided by fear.

We are created by song.

We are created by light.

We are created by love.

This is NOT naivety.

This is leadership.

Choosing love over fear is not weakness.

It is conscious strength.

A Remembrance

In the centre of your centre, there is a light that never ends.

Return to it.

Even now.

Especially now.

a video - song transmission by Bahar Boostani for opening the heart

This song is for my brother.

We cannot send it to him right now because the internet is down.

But we hold him in the centre of the centre.

And we trust we will sing it together soon.
