Can I Be With What Is Here? Choosing Life in Times of War | A Somatic Practice for Anxiety and Fear

When the war in my country started a week ago, something very old woke up inside my body.


I am originally from Iran.


I am also a child of war.


When I was born, bombs were already falling on my country.

So when war begins again, the body remembers.


The nervous system does not debate politics.

It reacts.

And my body reacted.


Fear.

Tightness.

Unease.


As a somatic coach, this is the moment when the real practice begins.


This is the time to walk the talk.


When Trauma Lives in the Body

I have spent many years learning about the body, trauma, and nervous system regulation.


But when life activates those layers inside you, theory disappears.


Only practice remains.


The practices that support me right now are very simple.


Shaking.

Breathing.

Kundalini practices.


Slowly, the body begins to settle.


And then one question keeps returning.


The Question I Ask Myself

Can I be with this now?


The answer is always simple.

Yes.Or no.


If the answer is no, I pause.

I place my hand on my body and say:


It’s okay.

You are not feeling safe right now.

I am here with you.


This is how I mother the fearful parts inside me.


And if the answer is yes, I stay.


I stay with the sensation.

The emotion.The energy.


Sometimes it lasts a few seconds.


Sometimes longer.


Choosing Life, Moment by Moment


Fear comes back again and again.

With every piece of news.

When I don’t hear from family back home.

When uncertainty rises.


But each time I return to the same question.


Can I be with this now?

And again I choose.


I choose life.

I choose presence.


Not by denying what is happening.

But by refusing to let fear take over my entire inner world.


This is a moment-to-moment practice.

This is how I stay human.


Why I Am Opening Healing Spaces This Month - Somatic Practices:


Because of this experience, I decided to dedicate this month of my work entirely to healing and nervous system support.


When anxiety, overwhelm, or fear rise, the body needs space to process them.


That is why I am offering two somatic healing containers this month.


Sacred Threshold

A space to sit with cacao, open the heart, and move into deep breathwork.


We use holotropic breathing to release emotional pressure and reconnect with the body.


The session closes with gentle clarity coaching to integrate what arises.


Alignment Threshold

A healing space using harmonising sound, toning, and light energy work.


This helps regulate the nervous system and calm stress levels before moving into clarity coaching.


Often, what appears as anxiety is simply energy waiting to be processed.
